Who's Behind the Keyboard

We're not a media conglomerate. We're a small crew of obsessive Australian gamers who got tired of reading reviews written by people who clearly didn't finish the game.

We Started Because We Were Annoyed

RocketClash launched in 2019 out of a share house in Fitzroy, Melbourne. Four friends, one TV, and a shared frustration: every major gaming outlet was either American, bought by publishers, or both. ANZ tournaments were invisible. Review scores were negotiated. Nobody was playing the games properly.

So we built the thing we wanted to read. Seven years later, it's still the same deal — we play the games, we attend the events, we write what we actually think, and we answer to readers, not advertisers.

  • Every review requires a minimum 20 hours of play time
  • Scores are never influenced by advertising relationships
  • Tournament coverage prioritises Australian and ANZ events
  • Editorial independence is protected by our founding charter
  • All reviewers disclose any conflicts of interest

Our Editorial Policy

Independence

RocketClash accepts no payment for review scores or editorial placement. Advertising and editorial are strictly separated.

Review Copies

We sometimes receive review copies from publishers. This is always disclosed in the review. It never influences our score.

Play Time

No review is published without a minimum 20 hours of play. For longer games, we aim for completion before scoring.

Corrections

Factual errors are corrected promptly and transparently. Corrections are noted at the top of the relevant article.

Think You Can Write Better Than Us?

Prove it. We're always on the lookout for opinionated Australian writers who actually finish the games they review. Send us a pitch.
